LORETTA'S ARTIST OF WEEK 7/13/15
Greg Burroughs, is a singer-songwriter who made Nashville his home after graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2008.
What began as a creative way for Greg and a few of his buddies to help pay for college in Boston has grown into a 200-show-per-year enterprise that shows no signs of slowing down, and many around the industry are taking notice. Burroughs first moved to Nashville in 2008 and began collaborating with world-renowned songwriters including David Lee, Darrell Brown, and Clay Mills. After spending a few years in town focusing on writing and networking, he returned to the road with his band in 2011. His band has shared bills with acts such as Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, and Jake Owen.
Burroughs creates an infectious, party like atmosphere during its popular live shows, but the he exerts an equal amount of energy off of the stage. While Burroughs acknowledges plenty of help along the way, the band is primarily self-financed through incessant touring, record sales, digital downloads, and merchandise sales - all without a record label, major booking agent or investor.
